Adam, Jennifer, Kasen, & Kona and Kuma, WA

After doing a lot of research and looking for Akitas on several websites, we stumbled across Main Street Akitas and loved everything about them. We first got Kona who is now 4 1/2 and then decided we wanted a playmate for Kona, so we got Kuma almost 2. They are such great dogs, great temperament, and certainly love to play together. Kona certainly acts like the first child. She is a gentle giant and a dog who knows what she wants and how to get it. She steals half our bed, finds pizza on the counter that she believes was left out for her and will do just about anything for Peanut Butter. She also loves greeting everyone. Kuma is Kona’s shadow, she is very loyal, and loves to be petted. After having our first son she was the one to always go check on him anytime he made a peep. They are both gentle with our son, especially when his tiny little hands try and sneak them a piece of food. Jennifer has been so great to work with and so helpful with any questions we’ve had along the way about any and everything. If/when we ever get another puppy (because I’m sure it’ll happen) it’ll certainly be through Main Street Akita’s. Our vet always says what great dogs we have and how friendly they are—I feel like part of this is how they were raised as puppies before we received them. Thank you for giving us the two best gifts. Life certainly wouldn’t be the same without them. And Christmas wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining without our Elfie Kona & Elfie Kuma (yes this is the 3rd year in a row we’ve turned them into ‘Elf on the Shelf’ after each new edition).

My husband, Anthony and I found Main Street Akita’s by chance on a web search.   It was the best thing that could have happened to our family. On December 8th, our Bear turned 2. He has been a joy to family, friends and just about everyone who meets him. He’s gentle with children, especially babies, which our family has 8 of them now. Phil & Jennifer were very welcoming and gave us plenty of time to make our choice of our new family member. Having us in their home to see their dogs and see how they interact with others, including their adorable little girl, Leah. We just can’t say enough great things about our Bear and Main Street Akitas.

First I want to say thank you.  From the day I contacted you in November 2013, to the day we first met my baby bear, my life has not been the same.  I appreciated your application process.  It said to me, that you care who adopts your babies.  I love the way you kept me informed and comforted me every step of the way.  Your weekly updates with pictures and the occasional puppy stories made us feel like family.  I fell in love with “Major” at three days old. Meeting Major’s parents; CH Joe and Denver, and to actually see how the puppies were cared for, wow.  We believe Main Street Akitas have very high standards as evidenced in the quality of puppy we adopted.  Leaving with official records in place, quality food in hand, and my fluffy 25 pound puppy was the most awesome feeling. The entire process was seamless. Throughout the 15 months Major has been with us, you have always been there for us.  Any question I have had big or small, has always been answered with a quality response.  Jen you continued to care for our puppies even though they are miles away through the great Akita FB network that we share.  At 107 pounds,  Major is a gentle giant.  The PetSmart employees love him.  He is quite a celebrity; his good looks, excellent health, kind demeanor and willingness to learn at obedience training, are all attributed to where he came from; “Main Street Akitas”.  I researched several breeders before I found you.  The testimonials from other parents said it all, the common thread was, “great breeder, healthy loving puppies, and they would recommend and adopt again from Jen”.   I highly recommend Jen and Phil Snyder.  I will be adopting a playmate for Major in the coming year, and my puppy will come from Main Street Akitas.  I won’t settle for anyone less.

We live in Canada and I was looking for an Akita breeder.  We searched first in our country and couldn't find anyone we approved of, so we started looking in the USA and we found Main Street Akitas.  Their puppies were everything we expected and more.  Main Street Akitas went above and beyond to make all the transactions easy and the travel for my two boys went so well thanks to them.  Their puppies are so well bred and you can tell the love for good quality dogs in the puppies themselves and the temperament and socialization is in them from the day they are born.  I will never buy from anyone else, I highly recommend them.
